Dream Liturgy

A little something here to welcome?

The name “Dream Liturgy” comes from an acknowledgment of the sacred nature of dream work. When we host a dream in community, its images, feeling and story come forward. The dream then serves as the liturgy for the gathering, inviting meaning and connection.

About
Darby Christopher
My view of dreams is that each one offers a “just right” invitation to lean into our growth edge via relationship with what the dream brings forward. Community presence helps constellate the energies invited by the dream, while also offering a safe container to engage them. At its best, dream work provides space in community for grief, celebration, ritual, meaning and direction.

I have been engaged in dream work for the past twenty plus years. In 2001 my mom gave me a Jeremy Taylor book, leading me and a friend to start a dream group at our Episcopal church in Atlanta, Georgia. From there, I discovered the dream-focused Natural Spiritual Regional Gathering (NSRG) started by Joyce Hudson, and the Haden Institute, founded by Episcopal priest Bob Haden. I completed a two-year Jungian-oriented Dream Leadership Training at the Haden Institute in 2006, and became a frequent dream group facilitator and workshop leader at the Haden Institute’s Summer Dream Conferences and at Natural Spirituality gatherings. In 2019 I assumed co-leadership of the NSRG conference, which continues to thrive both on line and in person.

Most recently, I completed 3 levels of Dr. Stephen Aizenstat’s Dream Tending training, and travelled on pilgrimage with him to Switzerland to soak in the spirit of Carl Jung at Eranos, his home in Kusnacht, and his Tower at Bollingen. Working with Dr. Aizenstat helped ground me further in experiential and creative dream work, while also introducing me to James Hillman, an imaginal field that is alive and primed for relationship, and Dr. Aizenstat’s work developing the Imagination Matrix.
In addition to engaging in dream work, I have a Masters degree in Social Work, am an ordained Interfaith Minister through One Spirit Learning Alliance, and I have two grown kids, a husband and a 3 year old Boykin Spaniel. I am the the author of a self-published book From Anxiety to Connection: A Path to Authentic Relating (2020) available on Bookshop.org or Amazon.
